Damilare Oyedele will present on "AI for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Societal Impact," exploring how artificial intelligence supports initiatives like environmental conservation, healthcare access, and poverty reduction. His talk will highlight the potential of AI to foster cross-sector collaborations and address global challenges effectively.
Damilare is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive of Library Aid Africa, a not-for-profit organization transforming libraries into vibrant community hubs through digital technology and community engagement. With a decade of experience in Africa’s library ecosystem and the global library field, Damilare focuses on SDG initiatives, library connectivity, capacity development, advocacy, policy, and research.
Over the last five years, he has led his team to collaborate with library partners in nine African countries, extending the impact of their work to 22 countries across the continent. His efforts have improved library usage, strengthened library advocacy, enhanced the capacity of young library professionals, and fostered multi-stakeholder partnerships.
Damilare’s innovative approach to promoting libraries and their societal contributions continues to inspire and drive impactful change across Africa and beyond.
